News
Spring
is on it's way! The tulips and daffodils the kids planted in the
preschool garden boxes are peaking up, but Mother Nature is still
playing the Winter/Spring duet. :) We've got some very fun
educational activities planned for the next couple of months
Wacky
Whatever Day: We'll be having
lots of fun on Dr. Seuss Day and with a Wacky Whatever day. Wacky
hair, silly dress, funny socks, mismatched shoes. Whatever you and
your child want to do to be wacky will be loads of fun!
*Fire
Station Field Trip: One of my favorite field trips of the school
year is coming up on March 29th! We'll be going to the Fire Station
at 5051 South 1900 West in Roy. Preschool will be from 10-12 today.
You may meet us at the fire station at 10:25 if you choose not to
meet at the school. Please be sure to leave your child with a
booster/car seat if you do not plan to drive. We will need two
drivers, so if you'd like to join us, please sign up on the bulletin
board. Any other parents and siblings may join us this day, too. It's
free and fun!
Value
of the month:
Citizenship: “Using
the rights and privileges one has a member of the community to make
that community a better place; being socially responsible; obeying
the laws and rules; doing one's part for the common good; respect
authority; helping your community by volunteering service.” I will
teach them the sign that goes along with this and discuss it with
books and conversation during snack time.
Sight
words for March:the, me, for, said, little, run, play, Spring,
Summer, Fall, and Winter.
Just
as a reminder, we have covered: I,
in, is, it, big, we, up, and, look, jump, go, said.
If you want to practice this at home, this is how we do it in
school on flashcards: “This is the word 'up'. What is it? They
respond 'up.' Then we go back through, spell the word, and say what
it is. Eventually they will be telling you the words without you
telling them. So if you happen to be reading books together and you
see one of these words, just see if they can tell you what it is. :)
I
have also been trying to work more on number recognition with the
children. It would be wonderful if you could help me with this by
helping them see the numbers in the world around them by asking your
children what number they see on signs, in books, on boxes, food
containers, etc.
Calling
all photos!
Over spring break, I'm
creating a fun slide show for preschool graduation and would
appreciate any extra photos you want to send my way from the first
day of school, Christmas program, class parties, field trips, etc.
Share an album from Shutterfly or Facebook, post them to the Facebook
page Learning Bees' Preschool, text, or email to zaranwrap@gmail.com
as
soon as possible.
A
big heads up! The Southwest Branch Library has an exhibit the
whole month of May in the auditorium so we will be unable to have
Preschool Graduation there.Preschool Graduation will be held at
the Pleasant Valley Branch in Washington Terrace on Tuesday, May 23rd
at 7:30! We will have
a goodbye party at school on Wednesday the 24th for the last day of
school.
Thanks
for everything! Hope you have a great March!

SueZan
