Awesome April

I love Spring. Our tulips and daffodils out front are ready to bloom any day and the kids are getting more outside time with the beautiful weather. My two favorite things in April are the Very Hungry Caterpillar unit where we'll watch real caterpillars make the transformation into butterflies. (Process complete mid May). And also our fun Bubble Day Field Trip. Please be sure to scroll down for your child's class news and more info!

APRIL NEWS
Value of the Month: It's interesting to me how all of the values seem to fall back into the first value introduced, RESPECT. Responsibility, cooperation, and citizenship have a lot to do with respect for others and for ourselves. Our Value of the month of April is Integrity. “Being honest. Knowing the difference between right and wrong and having the courage to do what is right, even when it is not easy to do so.” We will learn the sign for Integrity as well as read books and discuss the value during snack time.

*Bubble Fun Park Day Field Trip: We will be having a blast at the park enjoying a little snack, play time, and lots of bubble fun. We did this for the first time two years ago and the kids loved it! Everyone is welcome! If you would like to volunteer to drive, please put your name on the list in the preschool. We will be going to Loy Blake Park (550 N. 3500 W., West Point) :) It'll be great!

Sight words: We will continue working on all that has been introduced and adding just two new words this month—help and to. Past words that we've worked on are: in, I, is, it, big, we, up, look, and, jump, go, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, the, me, for, said, little, run, and play.

Calling all photos! I'm creating a fun slide show for graduation night and would LOVE for you to send me photos from the first day of school, field trips, the Christmas Program, class parties, etc. You can text, email, Facebook, or upload to a site such as Shutterfly and share the album with me. Thanks for your help in pulling this off! My email, if that is the route you choose, is zaranwrap@gmail.com. Please get them to me by April 30th. Thank you!

Picture Day: On Monday April 24th we'll be doing class photos and individual shots that will go in their graduation gift!

Preschool Graduation: Just in case you didn't see it on last month's calendar, Preschool Graduation will be held at the the Pleasant Valley Branch Library in Washington Terrace on Tuesday, May 23rd! Please feel free to invite grandparents and other family members, etc. It'll be really fun and I'll have some cute displays of the kids' work throughout the year along with a slide show of our adventures.
Have a beautiful April!

Bubble Fun Park Day Field Trip: I collaborate with two other preschool teachers in the Roy area and we are combining to do a fun park day. We will be having a blast at the park enjoying a little snack, play time, and lots of bubble fun. We did this for the first time two years ago and the kids loved it! Everyone is welcome! Preschool Graduation: Just in case you didn't see it on last month's calendar, Preschool Graduation will be held at the the Pleasant Valley Branch Library in Washington Terrace on Tuesday, May 23rd! (Sorry the Southwest Branch has an exhibit going on in their auditorium, so we have to go to a different location!)  Please feel free to invite grandparents and other family members, etc. It'll be really fun and I'll have some cute displays of the kids' work throughout the year along with a slide show of our adventures.
