September 2015 memories

NATURE WALK
During the last full week of September, we welcomed Autumn by having a nature walk to a nearby field in my neighborhood. We gathered some items and attached them to paper back at the preschool.

Apple Recipes in the Kitchen
September 18th
We peeled and cored 3 lbs of apples and made applesauce from a recipe I found on a blog called The Pioneer Woman . It's such an easy recipe to follow and the kids had so much fun using my apple peeler.

The second week of school
We talk about sharing, kindness, families, and how they are special.
The above drawing is of a student's family.
We have a potluck snack where the kids make a friendship trail mix of sorts. Then dig in! :)
We sing kindness and friendship songs such as
3 Kind Mice
Tune: 3 Blind Mice
(Original author unknown)
3 Kind Mice, 3 Kind Mice
See how they help
See how they help
They always share their corn and cheese
They always say thanks and please
They remember it's not nice to tease
Three Kind Mice, 3 Kind Mice
